Our Story

Hello. Alright?

We're two people, right, who had always liked acting and that. When we was at college, (back home in England) We joined club, the teacher was caled Emma. She was the one who told us about The Performing University for Theatre Arts (PUFTA) in New York City and their exchange program.

Two UK students get to go there, and two American actors get to come to London. Fair enough.

We applied, and we got in! We got into an American drama school for acting! In NYC!

When we got accepted we spoke to Polly (Principle of PUFTA) who said the Brits have such a natural gift for acting, she was thrilled to invite some British talent to her school.

When we got here it was all so different! For starters no one could understand what we was saying so we had to learn the lingo well quick. Now we sound just like real Americans, most people can't tell the difference.

And, everyone here was very welcoming - they must have thought we was very humorous 'cos they laughed a lot on our first day. Zach DuPois, he is an amzing actor, he was laughing and pointing and then on our second day he just looked at us and said "Seriously, this isn't funny any more!"

We're not sure what we were doing that was so funny but it sure did help us make friends!

Then the most amazing thing happened! We'd been here for about a term when it was time for the PUFTA prize to be announced. Every year (3 so far) the school picks it's best student to get a prize - and they picked us!!!!!! We were pretty amazed - guess that's what our teacher, Hadley, meant when he said we was on the Hit List!

We'd always done good and that in class but we was both struggling to be the essence of a liqurish allsort so we didnt think we was gonna win!

The prize we won was to get some money to make our kind of theatre - to do whatever we wanted with! We knew we wanted to help people with their problems and to be POSITIVE so we come up with the idea of Got Skillz - a theatre company dedicated to helping other people. They tell us their problems and we make a play about 'em for the world to see!

'Cos PUFTA is so amazing there was a film crew interested in following our story and they made a series all about us and our drama school chums - and called it Got Skillz! Couldn't believe it!

So here we are, two little Brits living the American Dream!
